Join iStage Chamber Orchestra! 

We welcome all talented music lovers to our ever growing iStage family! Come and explore the fun of playing in the iStage Chamber Orchestra!

 iStage is buiding its own Chamber Orchestra, to bring the passion of young musicians to a wider audience. For the second term of the season, we will offer half and full scholarships, to help support young musicians who dream of playing in an chamber orchestra.

 And, if you are selected for one of our scholarships, you will get a one-term orchestral bandcourse for free!

The advantages of joining iStage Chamber Orchestra:

• Getting ABRSM music theory exposure
• Playing together with other experienced musicians
• Participating in various concerts
• Having the opportunity to be the live band for our very popular musical theatre performances

Scholarships：
2 Full Scholarship for String
1 Half Scholarship for Orchestra

Requirements：
7+ years old, at least 1 year relevant instrument learning experience. Please send a short biography with your application, stating your previous experience. After application, students will receive the material to prepare for the audition.

Every Tuesday 5.30pm-6.30pm

Tutor：
It’s a great honor for iStage to invite Ross Weng, the principal of Viola at Shanghai City Symphony Orchestra and Amy Yuan whom holds a M.A degree from Millfield School and Royal Academy of Music. They will share their experience, host the music workshops and give a Q&A time.

Ross Weng
Ross, started learning violin atage of 4. He was a former student of Professor Feifei Wu of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In the past few years, he also attended master classes at National University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, focusing on conducting, violin and chamber music from Professor Kurt Schmid and Professor Elizabeth Kropfitsch respectively.

He was a former 1st violinist, violist, and finally a principal of viola at Symphony Orchestra of the Shanghai Oriental Little Companion Art Group; He was the deputy concert master and the principal of the 2nd violin at University of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, USA. He is now a violist and the principal of viola at Shanghai City Symphony Orchestra. 

His expertise in teaching ABRSM lesson is among one of the popular instrumental teachers at iStage.

Amy Yuan

• Full scholarships at Millfield School and Royal Academy of Music, Bachelor and masters honours degrees.
• The only Chinese Concertmaster in the history of National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
• Awarded ‘Candide Prize’ by LOS St. Luke’s String Academy for ‘the Most Promising Musician’.
• Hostedsolo and chamber concerts across Europe and China.
• Worked withLondon Symphony Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra and Oxford Philharmusica.
