2018 Autumn / Winter Term Admission information

October 9th, 2018

Thank you for choosing iStage! We are so excited to start the 2018-2019 Autumn-Winter Semester Program with you!

It is impossible to predict which skills will be required for the workplace even in the near future and many hard skills will likely become obsolete. One thing we can be certain of is that emotional intelligence and creativity will always have a huge value in every facet of society.

Our belief is that all people are creative and our programmes are personalized and differentiated to help discover every student’s passion and talent. It’s also a very fun and enjoyable way to encourage intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and empathy and we encourage a self exploratory and (safe) risk taking approach. In turn, this encourages the student to be a more confident and independent.

These experiences are invaluable life skills that will develop proficiencies and abilities required across different work settings to better prepare for a successful life in a rapidly changing world.

In our new term, we hope every iStage student can “Dream Big! And Act Bigger!”

Sign-in
All parents or students must sign in and out at our front desk. In the classes held outside of the academy venue, the teacher will sign in the students before the start of the class.

Punctuality

It is vital that students arrive on time for their classes. If students are late for class they may miss vital information and will impede the learning of others and place themselves at risk of injury should they miss the warm up section of the class.

Attendance
Regular attendance is extremely important for development within the Arts. Exam students’ attendance will be monitored as they prepare for their examinations and assessments. Students attending our performance courses are required to attend the rehearsal days and/or weekend.

Discipline
Students are expected to behave in an orderly and well-mannered way and to show respect to their teachers and fellow students.

-The First aid box is kept at the front desk.

-Students should drink plenty of water and ensure they keep their energy levels up by eating a nuts free healthy snack in between classes.

-If students hurt themselves in class or feel unwell at any point, they should notify their teacher or a staff member immediately.

-No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. We are a nuts free academy, please do not bring any snacks contain nuts.

-No Scooter, bicycles and running are allowed at iStage premises. The students under 11 years are suggested to be supervised by the parents/guardians while waiting for the class

-Fire regulation: if the fire alarm sounds, students (led by the teacher if present) must make their way immediately to their nearest available Fire Exit and meet at the far side of the courtyard. Roll call will then be taken. A separate fire protocol is available for perusal. Fire drill may be done once a term with the students and parents.

Personal Property
Expensive personal belongings are not suggested to bring to the class. Students should make sure they keep their valuable personal items with them at all times. The iStage Academy regrets that we cannot be held responsible if items go missing. Our front desk staff is collecting all lost and found items at the end of each day. The lost and found items will be kept for four weeks at the front desk before being discarded.
